There will soon be a physical, handmade copy available at Bandcamp. It is looking good and when it is done I will post it here.

Also, mixing of The Hamilton Revision album is nearly done. This is the ‘companion’ album to Sprawl. It features 5 songs that were written during the Sprawl sessions, 3 remakes of earlier Magnetic songs, and two songs written and recorded about a month ago.

I’m very excited to release this one soon!!!

The new album is nearly done…just waiting on the cover art. I’m have also been working on a few new songs and might revise the track listing somewhat or release an accompanying EP. Will do more updating soon.

So here’s the deal…I have recorded a ton of new songs…originally for a concept album. However, that has changed. I have sorted through the songs and found the best 10 tracks which will be released as a new album, entitled ‘Sprawl’…

An additional 5 tracks will be released as an EP…likely prior to the album release…which will be called ‘Motives EP’

I feel that these songs are my best work to date and I am currently putting a live band together so I can get out and play live.

They will be released soon…

Since the release of ‘The Distance Between Us’, I have been writing non-stop. I am working on a concept album, of sorts. It is about a series of events that happened to me me over the last year and a half. As of this writing, the album is called ‘The History of My Decline’ and will feature 18 songs. I am about 14 songs into it already. The sound of these new songs is very different than my previous work and I am really excited about it. I am unsure of how I will release it though. Originally, I planned to release one song per month until I had released the first 5 songs, which I would collect in an EP, representing Side One of the album…and so on…eventually releasing 4 EPs, which would be collected as a whole album.

The reason for the staggered release schedule was to keep me focused and creating, figuring I would be working at my usual snails pace. However, that is not the case. I have been writing up a storm.

I will update here in the future as to what is happening with the release and when you can expect the first song to appear on Soundcloud.

Updates…

Well, the new album is done, mixed and mastered. I am very stoked about it. I will be releasing it sometime this week, as soon as I get all the previous albums uploaded to Bandcamp.

Also, I will be commencing work on a new project. Sort of my version of Smashing Pumpkins ‘Teargarden By Kaleidyscope’, if you will.

The project is essentially an 18 song concept album called ‘The History of my Decline.’ I will attempt to release one song a month, starting on June (possibly nothing in July due to other commitments…but maybe). Once I have completed a set number of songs (5,4,5,4) I will release them as an EP or a ‘SIDE’ of the final album.

The first track, entitled ‘For All The Ghosts’ will be released by 30 June 11 (probably before). That release will be followed by ‘Street Symphony’ in July or early August.

The Distance Between Us…

Well, it is finally nearing completion. The project that began life 2 years ago as ‘The Stars Will Carry Us Home’ has come full circle. When I began writing and recording this record I was very inspired by early Pink Floyd. The songs were very lengthy, almost epic in length, and had multiple ‘movements’ or ideas. As well, the intention was to have vocals on many of the tracks. Over time the concept evolved and the songs were refined and the vocal idea dropped (which also meant dropping a few really decent songs). I feel that this is my strongest work to date and I am very pleased with it. Mixing is nearing completion and I hope that it will be released soon.

Finally, after almost 2 years, the new Magnetic album is almost complete. I am currently mixing the songs and hope to have it released in the very near future…

So, after a very lengthy hiatus I think I am ready to come back to making music. I have big plans for the new year, which will see the release of a lot of new music. The first project I am going to work on is the completion of ‘The Stars Will Carry Us Home.’ I am basically going to start from scratch with it and re-record all the existing songs and hopefully add a few new ones to the final release. I am very excited for this project to finally see the light of day. I intend to commence recording within a week or so and see how it goes from there.

I also plan to finally put together a live band and do some gigs in 2011.
